What Is a Silkroad Proxy and Why Is It Needed?
A Silkroad proxy is an intermediary server that hides your real IP address and connects you to Silkroad Online through a different IP. Since playing with multiple accounts simultaneously is a common practice due to the nature of the game, using a separate IP address for each account has become a necessity.
Silkroad Online servers, especially iSRO, monitor multiple connections from the same IP address and apply IP bans when they find them suspicious. This directly affects players who run trade bots, use multiple accounts, or play coordinately for guild members. By using ISP IPv4 proxy, you get a unique and clean IP address for each of your accounts.
The fundamental difference between VPN and proxy is that VPN routes all your internet traffic. In Silkroad, since you only want to route specific clients' traffic, SOCKS5 proxy is a much more efficient solution. Additionally, VPNs typically use shared IPs, and these IPs may be blacklisted on game servers.
The biggest advantage of ISP proxies is that they offer IP addresses belonging to real internet service providers. This makes it undetectable that you're using a proxy, and the game server sees you as a regular user. It's a much safer option compared to datacenter proxies.
Using Proxy with Bot Software (SBot, PhBot, RSBot)
SBot is one of the most popular bot software for Silkroad Online and has built-in SOCKS5 proxy support. To set up a proxy in SBot, go to the Options menu, select the Proxy tab, choose SOCKS5 protocol, and enter your proxy IP, port, username, and password. You can safely manage your multiple accounts by setting a different proxy for each SBot instance.
PhBot similarly offers SOCKS5 proxy support. PhBot's advantage is that it can manage multiple accounts from the same interface. Each account can have a separate proxy assignment. After entering the required information in Settings > Proxy, PhBot automatically routes all traffic through the proxy.
RSBot users can also configure SOCKS5 proxy. RSBot proxy settings are typically done through config files. You can create a separate config file for each bot instance to assign different proxies.
The most important thing to note when using proxies with bot software is that the proxy should be stable and have low ping values. Bot software constantly communicates with the server, and connection drops can cause the bot to stop or even flag the account as suspicious. Our ISP proxies minimize this risk with 99.9% uptime guarantee.
Trade System and Multi-Account Management
Silkroad Online's trade system is the game's most profitable and proxy-intensive mechanism. While the trader account runs caravans, thief accounts attempt to rob them, and hunter accounts provide protection. This triple structure requires at least 3 separate accounts and therefore 3 separate proxies.
Professional trade botters typically run 5-10 or more accounts simultaneously. Using a separate ISP IPv4 proxy for each account is mandatory — otherwise, the server can identify all accounts as belonging to the same person and apply a mass IP ban. This results in both time and gold loss.
Another important consideration in multi-account management is that proxies should come from different subnets. Using multiple IPs from the same /24 subnet can raise suspicion on the server side. Our proxy packages provide IP distribution from different subnets to minimize this risk.
When the trade bot system runs 24/7, it can generate significant gold income. However, this continuous operation requires stable proxy connectivity. If the connection drops, the caravan could be lost or the account could be left unprotected. Our ISP proxies support this process with static IPs and high uptime.
Proxy usage is also common in guild-based organizations. During fortress wars, guild members coordinate while some players keep their backup accounts active. By using separate proxies for each account, you eliminate IP ban risk at both individual and guild levels.
iSRO vs Private Server: Proxy Selection Guide
iSRO (international Silkroad Online) is the official server managed by Joymax and has the strictest IP policies. Multi-account usage is more tightly monitored on iSRO, and IP ban penalties can be permanent. For this reason, using ISP IPv4 proxy is strongly recommended for iSRO players. Datacenter proxies can be easily detected by iSRO.
Private servers generally have more flexible policies, but this varies from server to server. Some private servers are tolerant of multi-accounting while others enforce rules as strict as iSRO. Your proxy needs may differ based on your private server choice, but using proxy in all cases is recommended to stay on the safe side.
Server location is an important factor in proxy selection. iSRO servers are typically located in Europe (Germany) and the USA. Private servers can be hosted in various locations worldwide. Choosing the proxy server closest to your game server's location will significantly reduce your ping values.
In high-cap private servers (110 cap, 120 cap, 140 cap), more bots and multi-accounts are generally used. Competition is intense on these servers, making proxy usage critical for both security and performance. On lower cap servers, fewer accounts may be sufficient.
